...on God managing our lives
To cut a long story short - I went for promotion at work recently but didn't get it because 2 other people interviewed just that little bit better than me. Yes I was disappointed but I know that God has a greater plan than the one I understand at the moment. So I sent a text around to the people who wanted to know the result, including my sister. In the text I said that I know God has a plan. My sister's response got me thinking, she said "I don't think God micro manages but he does look out for us." I'm not sure I agree, I think that God would (help us) manage something as big as the main source of family income. So I throw the question out to you, how much of our lives does God manage?

There was a time in England when a sizeable chunk of the population believed these questions and answers:
Q.7. What are the decrees of God?
A. The decrees of God are his eternal plan, based on the purpose of His will, by which, for His own glory, He has foreordained everything that happens.
Q.8. How does God carry out His decrees?
A. God carries out His decrees in creation and providence.
Q.11. What is God's providence?
A. God's providence is His completely holy, wise, and powerful preserving and governing every creature and every action.
(From the Westminster Shorter Catechism)
Notice the all-inclusiveness. It takes some getting your head round.

PS. You can read various scriptural justifications for these at this website, if you have the inclination. ;-)
