...on the internet

I guess it's stating the obvious but sometimes I worry about what can be viewed on the internet.

After a little joke at work today(the background doesn't matter) I went to google.co.uk (shameless plug there!) and did an image search for 'Kaliber', a low-alcohol bottled beer, for the logo.

What surprised me was what the search also brought up - naked ladies modelling a gun, obviously called a Kaliber. Bare naked, breasts clearly on show and only the gun covering certain other body parts.

You might just dismiss me as a prude but let me explain further. Those sort of images do not bother me in the slightest, I'm more concerned with the fact that blatant pornographic images can be found when searching for something totally harmless. Imagine if your 10 year old son did a search for 'Ferrari' and found pictures of half naked women draping themselves over the latest car. Imagine if your 13 year old daughter did a search for 'Horses' and was faced with various bestiality images? (I haven't tried those 2 by the way)

And don't try the whole "Safe Search" defence...

...on coincidence/luck and divine intervention

How many sequential events of coincidence/luck does it take for a non-Christian to start thinking that there may be a higher power at work behind it all? 5? 10? 50? Surely they must agree that there is a number (albeit different for different people) even if it is extreme, like 5000.

Therefore, why is it so hard to believe that a higher power, ie God or even Satan, is behind just one coincidental/lucky event?

Why do humans, or should I say why does society insist on rationalising everything to any answer as long as it is not the answer provided by Christianity? Why is it that any answer is valid and acceptable except God's way?

I heard on the radio that by 2007 Birmingham will become Britain's first majority non-white city. How many people agree with me, in the personal opinion, that Britain is no longer a majority Christian country?

What started this train of thought was that last night whilst driving home up the M1, Timothy (who we are trying to potty train) said he needed the toilet. We said that he had a nappy on and that it was ok to go in his nappy. He didn't say much then didn't mention it again. Half an hour later, he suddenly piped up again that he needed the toilet so we decided to pull over. Unsurprisingly, there was too much noise and wind for him and he didn't go. So we set off again. Not 2 minutes further on we saw the last sign for services, so I quickly cut across 3 lines and dived off the slip lane. Jo was asleep in her car seat so Kathy took Timothy in. When they came back I went in. Upon my return Kathy asked if we could help the car parked next to us because they couldn't get their engine started.

Were all these events coincidence/luck? Is it coincidence/luck that I carry a set of jump leads in the car? Is it coincidence/luck that we (my family) are caring enough that we actually stop and help a complete stranger even though it means unpacking half the boot to get to the jump leads and making us a little late?

Or is it divine intervention?
