...on comical Christianity-bashing
I don't understand Metro's Mini-Cosm column's need to continually bash Christianity. Is it just because it's supposed to be 'science' and that the 2 (science and religion) don't mix?? Well that's rubbish for a start, the 2 mix perfectly but that's another point.
I found today's attempt nothing short of comical, here it is, then I shall comment:-
"TONGUE TIED: Forget the Spirit of God moving people, it's just their frontal lobe getting over-excited. The first brain scans of people 'speaking in tongues' show they have less activity in the frontal lobes - a area of the brain behind the forehead linked with self-control. 'We assume the subject's sense of self is being taken over by another part of the brain,' said researcher Andrew Newberg of Pennysylvania University."
So here's my comments
1. Grammatical error - "a area" should be "the area" but that's by-the-by
2. "...getting over-excited..." then "...less activity..." - make up your mind!
3. "...being taken over by another part of the brain." - no, taken over by God. Simple, logical explanation.
